Coffee Fertilizer Recipe for Hydrangeas
Ingredients:
1 cup of used coffee grounds cooled and dry
1 tablespoon of Epsom salt optional, for extra magnesium
4 cups of compost or aged leaf mulch
Water as needed for moisture
Instructions:
1. Mix coffee grounds, Epsom salt, and compost thoroughly in a bucket.
2. Lightly moisten the mix it should be crumbly, not soggy.
3. Spread around the base of your hydrangea not touching the stem.
4. Gently rake it into the topsoil.
5. Water well after applying.
Why It Works:
Coffee grounds add nitrogen and gently acidify the soil ideal for blue blooms.
Compost improves structure and microbial life.
Epsom salt boosts flowering and leaf health optional but helpful.
