Hydrangea blooms change color based on the pH of the soil they grow in.
Acidic Soil pH below 6.0 Blue or purple flowers
Alkaline Soil pH above 6.0 Pink or red flowers
To shift color naturally:
Add aluminum sulfate or coffee grounds for bluer blooms
Use garden lime or crushed eggshells for pinker hues
