I came across a tip someone shared on Facebook and thought it was worth passing along. Dissolve one box of Morton canning salt in a gallon of warm water. Then add a gallon of white vinegar, and slowly mix in one cup of Dawn dish soap. Spray the mixture directly on weeds. It worked well for me and is much cheaper than store-bought herbicides. Note: Salt doesnt dissolve in vinegar, so make sure to mix it with water first.

Lavender Pruning Key Points in Brief Prune annually to reduce woody growth and boost blooms. In spring, remove winter-damaged stems. Main pruning occurs post-flowering late summer. In hot climates, early pruning may prompt a second flower bloom. Trim up to two-thirds of green growth, avoiding old woody stems. Shape the plant to your desired stylecompact or natural. Use clean pruners, cutting just above new growth near the woody base. Save spent blooms for sachets or closets. Rejuvenate woody plants by layering: scratch, pin, and root a low stem. Once rooted, cut and transplant the new plant. Regular pruning ensures healthy, productive lavender.
