Simple Guide to Growing a Pineapple in Water
1 Pick a healthy pineapple
Choose one with fresh, firm green leaves. Avoid any with yellowing or damaged foliage.
2 Prepare the crown
Twist off the leafy top and remove a few bottom leaves to expose 23 cm of stem.
3 Place in water
Submerge only the stem in a glass of water, keeping the leaves dry. Put it in a sunny spot for 68 hours of light daily, and change the water every 23 days.
4 Wait for roots to grow
Once the roots reach about 710 cm, its ready to be moved into soil.
5 Transplant and care
Plant the crown in a 30 cm pot with well-draining soil, water generously, and keep it in a sunny location. Maintain regular watering.
With a little patience, youll enjoy watching your pineapple grow and one day, taste a fruit you grew yourself.
